Several important changes are emerging in the field of addiction recovery based on the latest scientific research and medical advances. There is a movement away from traditional acute care models (30-90 day rehab programs), confrontational "cookie cutter" approaches, and label-driven treatment to more recovery-oriented standards of care. This includes person-centered intervention and recovery supports that embrace a motivational enhancement, holistic, and individualized recovery process.
Recovery management is an emerging approach geared toward treating addiction, similar to how other chronic and progressive illnesses, such as cancer and diabetes, are treated. This treatment is usually longer term and often is anchored in the client's natural environment to improve outcomes and to sustain recovery.
Life Enhancement Center offers addiction recovery services at affordable rates that beat any of our competition. We provide 365 days of home and community-based treatment for less than staying 90 days in a rehab facility. With facility-based programs, the majority of your treatment funds are spent on paying someone else’s overhead (mortgage, property tax, utilities, etc.). With us, 100% of your treatment funds are spent directly on therapeutic services—making recovery more effective and easily affordable.
At Life Enhancement Center, we understand the unique treatment needs of individuals struggling with drug and alcohol abuse and the impact addiction has on family members. We come into your home to provide services on a daily basis. Following guidelines from the American Society of Addiction Medicine, we take a holistic approach to drug and alcohol recovery, believing that “to treat the individual in isolation is to ignore the context in which most of that behavior takes place.” Hence, we address all the contextual systems that influence drug and alcohol abuse.

As you consider treatment options, notice how Life Enhancement Center provides all 13 principles of substance abuse services established by the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
1. Make treatment readily available: Rehab programs require that you leave home, family, and work to live in a distant environment that is not typical of daily living. Our addiction therapists bring recovery services to the privacy of your home, allowing you to continue working while you receive flexible, high quality daily treatment.
2. Ease of entry: Unlike rehab programs, Life Enhancement Center does not require you to be clean of substances prior to entry. We also do not exclude those seeking treatment with a criminal background, suicidal tendencies, or violent behavior. Our home-based services provide the ultimate ease of entry for those in need of treatment.
3. Build on existing motivation: At Life Enhancement Center, we recognize that your motivation to change is personal and cannot be forced. Our therapists respect that goals fluctuate through five different stages and avoid labeling you as “resistant” or “in denial.” Treatment moves at your speed and readiness.
4. Enhance therapeutic alliance: We build strong, understanding, and respectful relationships with you and your family members by offering private treatment in the comfort of your home and community. Most rehab programs struggle to create a therapy relationship because they focus more on your adherence to their facility rules, policies, and procedures. Our exclusive home-based treatment program has rules; however these rules focus on assisting you to achieve success according to your needs, not the needs of the facility.
5. Make retention a priority: Unlike rehab programs, Life Enhancement Center will not deny you treatment for using substances or breaking program rules. We view these behaviors as evidence a client needs professional help!
6. Assess and address individual treatment needs: Our treatment approach is very unique. We assess your biological, psychological, social, and gender needs to create personalized addiction recovery services. These include psychological testing, individual therapy, family therapy, sober tracking, multifamily groups, and community support.
7. Provide ongoing care: Recovery is a process, not an event. Life Enhancement Center provides you with continuous recovery management for sustained sober living.
8. Monitor abstinence: We take sobriety seriously. Our random urine screenings monitor use of common illegal drugs, use of alcohol for the past 80 hours, and use of 600 prescription medications.
9. Use mutual-help and other community-based supports: At Life Enhancement Center, we use physicians and community-based supports for vocational rehabilitation, transportation, disease management, and detoxification. Additionally, our multifamily groups help you and your family members develop normal social support networks that reduce the stigma of addiction.
10. Use medications, if indicated: Alcohol and drug addiction is a chronic brain disease that creates chemical changes in brain structure and function. The same is true of coexisting mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety. Therefore, we work closely with physicians to include safe medications (e.g., Suboxone) during treatment, if needed.
11. Educate about substance abuse, recovery, and relapse: Our qualified and caring therapists educate you and your family members about brain and body changes from substance abuse, skills for sustained recovery, and steps to lasting relapse prevention. Our multifamily groups engage several clients and their family members in group exercises and retreats that teach them how to develop healthy communication, avoid enabling behaviors, reduce codependence, and get help.
12. Engage families, employers, and significant others: The family has a central role to play in the treatment of any health problem, including substance abuse. Family members are the individuals who were part of your life before treatment and will be part of your life after treatment. No matter how alienated these family members may be, they are necessary to the strength and duration of your recovery. This is why Life Enhancement Center engages families, employers, and significant others that you may request.
13. Incorporate evidence-based approaches: We pride ourselves in using research-based treatment promoted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Evidence suggests that “incorporating multifamily groups into addiction recovery has been shown to increase the length of treatment for female clients, increase completion rates for men, and improve family functioning and children’s behavior” (SAMHSA, 2004, p. 100).
We are confident in our exclusive addiction recovery services and look forward to servicing you and your family! It's time to get your life back!
